Blunder of Dog Biscuits for Scout

Dog biscuits were part of Scout’s December third visit. The third day brought a little fun and curiosity to Scout’s life. My kiddos quickly found him in the kitchen area. My oldest son was thrilled that Scout was doing things and not just hiding in places. He was hoping for more excitement, but this was a good start.

Scout was sitting between the toaster oven and stand mixer. There was a plate in front of him with what looked like Christmas cookies. One of the cookies looked as if it had been nibbled on. Crumbs were on Scout’s costume. The “cookies” were shaped as evergreen trees, stars and gingerbread men. Scout did not like the cookie he tried.

Scout had a note beside him explaining how he thought they were really cookies. However, to his disappointment, the cookies ended up being dog biscuits. My middle child noticed Scout had crumbs on his costume. He got a napkin and gently tried to brush off the crumbs. My kiddo was careful not to actually touch Scout. He left the napkin for Scout to use later, if necessary. Of course, if Scout tried dog biscuits and was fine enough to write about it, my middle son had to try them out, as well. Not surprisingly, he did not care for the dog biscuits, either. Later that day my two older kiddos decided to leave some real cookies for Scout to eat. They left a note for him, as well.

“The LORD replied, ‘Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the LORD, have spoken!’” (Jeremiah 1:7, 8, NLT)
